One can learn a positive outlook on life.
This speaks in favor of it
You can actively clear your life until you can concentrate on the essentials. By setting small, gradual goals, hope, activity, and success will lead to a positive outlook on life.

According to Martin Seligman (see facts), an optimistic outlook on life can be learned.

Thoughts and behavior are changeable – a key argument for this is that people can train their thinking patterns. Psychology shows that negative thought patterns can be changed through conscious practice. Methods of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), for example, help to recognize automatic negative thoughts and evaluate them more realistically.

Beck, A. T. (1976): Cognitive Therapy and the Emotional Disorders.Optimism can be strengthened through practice. A positive outlook on life doesn't mean ignoring problems. Rather, it involves learning to re-evaluate difficult situations. Practices such as gratitude journaling, mindfulness, or setting realistic goals can improve one's perception of their own life.

Genes and personality play a role. Not everyone starts with the same predispositions. Some people are naturally more optimistic, others are more prone to worry or negative thoughts.

Life circumstances strongly influence one's attitude. People who experience hardship, such as poverty, illness, or loss, often have greater difficulty developing a positive outlook. A purely "positive mindset" cannot solve such problems.

Positive thinking can become unrealistic ("toxic optimism"). An excessively positive attitude (pressure to always think positively and not allow negative feelings) can lead to problems being suppressed or risks being underestimated. Critical situations sometimes require a realistic assessment rather than optimism.

Facts
Martin Seligman investigated what distinguishes optimists (O.) from pessimists (P.). He found that they attribute causes differently: optimists see the cause of pleasant events, successes, etc., as permanently within themselves, while attributing adverse events to temporary, situational causes. For pessimists, it's the other way around. Permanence: Pessimists consider the causes of unpleasant events they experience to be permanent and lasting. Optimists, on the other hand, see the causes as temporary and transient. Scope: Pessimists generalize failures they experience in a specific area, whereas optimists see a failure in one area as not affecting other areas of their lives. Personalization: Pessimists blame themselves for failures, unpleasant events, etc., and therefore tend to have low self-esteem. Optimists, however, are more likely to look for the reasons for failures in other people.
